Conie Geonzon wants a change in Clarin
Away from the business world, Consuelo “Conie” Geonzon thinks about initiating change.

But what could a businesswoman like her possibly do? A lot. Conie took the step in promoting Bohol through her Aproniana, a souvenir shop located in Taguihon, Baclayon. Aproniana, known as Bohol’s ultimate souvenir destination, sells Bohol to the world with almost anything you want so you can remember the memories you’ve spent in Bohol.
Conie is running for councilor in her hometown Clarin under the team Uswag Clarin.
“We will establish a new generation of politicians. We need a new direction – and that requires a new set of leaders,” Conie replied when asked why.
Those running under the Uswag Clarin are mostly neophytes.
“We are neophytes in politics but our group is composed of CPA, businessmen, police officer, doctor, nurse and a teacher.” She also finds the tourism in Clarin should be improved.
“Our group Uswag Clarin made a sacred covenant to make a transparent government. We don't make promises we can't keep.”
But will Conie turn her back on business if and when she becomes councilor?
“No. I will remain helping the tourism industry of Bohol and at the same time helping my hometown.”

Miniature Christmas Village attracts visitors
The home of Mrs. Mila Lim has been attracting visitors this Yule time because of its decorations and miniature Christmas village, a modern marvel of our times.
Envisioned as a village symbolizing the joyous blessings and atmosphere of the Christmas Season, Mrs. Lim finished decorating her Christmas Village, the only in Bohol, last October.

Mrs. Lim started her Christmas Village in 2008 for the pleasure of her own family and has since increased her collection of miniature Christmas houses and objects. Her creation was so highly appreciated by her family and friends who would come to enjoy the wonderful displays during Christmas time.
Her eye-catching Christmas Village continues to grow and glow as she adds new features of miniature houses and other attractions from her travels here and abroad (Israel, Australia, Hongkong and China).
This year, Mrs. Lim has made many renovations in the displays, but their emphasis on family tradition and holiday celebration remains unchanged.

“It takes a lot of work to continue the Christmas Village," says Mrs. Lim “But it gives me satisfaction because the essence of Christmas is the joy it brings to people," she adds.
